God
We believe in one eternal, invisible God. He is creator of heaven and earth, and all living things. He revealed himself to humanity as Father in creation, Son through redemption, and as the Holy Spirit within us.
(Deut. 6:4, Ephesians 4:5)
The Bible
We believe that God originated and inspired the entire Bible, and that the Bible is God’s message to humanity. We accept that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, living, eternally reliable Word of God equally in all parts and without error.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Peter 1:23-25, Hebrews 4:12)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, crucified on Calvary for the sins of humanity, and physically arose from the grave. We believe that through his death and life we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.
(John 1:1-2 & 14, 1 Tim. 3:16, Acts 7:37-38)
Salvation
We believe that every person has sinned and stands in need of redemption, which is obtained by grace, through faith, in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those repenting of sin and being born again of water and spirit become children of God and heirs with Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 2:38)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues, His present ministry, His indwelling, His empowering, His impartation of gifts for today, and His transforming power in the lives of all believers.
(Acts 2, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Galatians 5:22-23)
The Church
We believe the church has been “called out” of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ. These Christ followers, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will create genuine spiritual change in the community and those around them. Our mission is to connect people to God, and to each other, in a way that advances the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Beliefs are not worth much unless they are translated into actions. Based on what the Bible teaches, we feel very strongly about the following practices:
BIBLE AS OUR SOLE AUTHORITY
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” II Timothy 3:15
Since God’s Word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living. Our first question when faced with a decision is “What does the Bible say?” We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study, and bible memorization. The Bible is the basis for all we believe.
